John Knox (1514–1572) was a Scottish minister, theologian, and writer who served as the primary leader of the Scottish Reformation and the founder of Presbyterianism. He transformed the religious and political landscape of Scotland, moving it away from Roman Catholicism and toward a Reformed Calvinist identity.
